   We extend our sympathy to the Chuck De Vries family in the passing of Chuck’s stepfather, Orlie Hjelming, who passed away on August 11.
   Please pray for Deb Johnson as she recovers at home and waits to see what the next step will be in her treatment.
   We rejoice with Dale & Ivy Kruse in the birth of their son, Charles Eric.
  Please pray for Al Vis as he continues to recuperate and heal at home following gall bladder surgery

    This Sunday, August 27: The Combined Evening Service will be in our Church at 6:30.
    Next Sunday, September 3: Pastor Ed Veldhuizen will be leading our worship services. The Combined Evening Service will be in the 

 Reformed  church at 6:30.
    There will be a Well-Ordered Church book discussion today at 5:30 p.m.
    Immediately following the morning worship service there will be a brief congregational meeting. The Council is asking the congregation to 

 vote on whether or not to sell a piece of church property. We need a two thirds majority to pass this proposal.   
    From the Education Committee:  We are in need of a couple of Sunday School teachers so that each class can be staffed with two teachers

 to help share the load.  Please contact Pastor Josh or a member of the education committee if you are interested in teaching our covenant youth.
    Garden Produce Swap: For the month of August, please bring extra items from your garden to the round table by the piano in the 

 Fellowship  Hall. Feel free to take several items in return. May we thank God for the bountiful harvest!
    Cornerstone Prison Church is having a fundraiser at the Luverne Pizza Ranch. You can help support prison ministry inside the walls at the 

 South  Dakota State Penitentiary by stopping by for pizza Monday, August 28 between 5:00pm – 8:00pm. See you there!

    Pro-Life Gathering:  Discover the threats faced by unborn children, their mothers, and the elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable persons.  

 Find out what you can do to protect and save lives.  The public is invited to an informative and enlightening presentation given by an expert 

 from MCCL, the state’s oldest and largest pro-life organization, on Monday, September 11 at 7pm at the Pipestone Pizza Ranch. 
    Ask a friend or two to join you at the retreat hosted by Bible League International Volunteers on September 12 at the First Reformed 

 Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. There are only a few days left to register (deadline is August 25), so fill out your form and send it in today!

 Kendra Smiley, will hold your attention with her insight and wit. The Valley Male Chorus will end the day with a concert filled with their

    The Southwest MN Christian High School Parent/Circle Group #12 will be hosting a sub supper on Tuesday, September 19 from 

 5:00-7:30 p.m. during the home soccer and volleyball games. You may purchase sub sandwich meal for $7.00 or purchase items individually.
