   We extend our sympathy to the Dick Talsma family in the passing of Dick’s sister, Elizabeth Fransen..
  We remember all of our members who reside at area care facilities. Chris SankeyDick Talsma and Marie Vander Top who reside at 

 Edgebrook’s Assisted Living, Gert Krosschell who resides at Edgebrook Apartments and Geneva Peters who resides at the Pipestone 

 Good Samaritan Care Facility.

   ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

    This Sunday, Oct. 1: The Combined Evening Service will be in the Reformed Church at 6:30.
    Next Sunday, Oct. 8: The Combined Evening Service will be in our church at 6:30.
    The Council has made a list of men who are eligible to serve as elder or deacon. A letter has been sent to these individuals. Please pray that

 the Holy Spirit will move these men to accept this nomination so we may have continued leadership in our church.
    Choir practices for the morning service on Oct. 29 in celebration of the 500th anniversary of the  Reformation  will be as follows: 

 TODAY, Oct.15 (after the morning services) and also at 7:00 on Oct. 25 which is a Wednesday evening. Our last practice will then be 

 early morning Oct. 29 before the service. A link to the music has been sent to most of our previous choir members for at-home practice. If you 

 have been inadvertently overlooked on that email, please contact Rose with your email address so you can receive these links.
    Cooking Group is starting up again: Our first cooking group will meet October 7 at 8:30 a.m. Please let Melanie or Shela know by 

 TODAY if you would like to sign up.
    The Outreach Committee is looking for 5 volunteers to each cook a turkey for the Harvest Meal on Saturday, November 18.  Please 

 contact John Busman or Ivan Vogel if you are willing to do this. Thank you!
    You are invited to a Gospel Concert in Woodstock, MN at the American Reformed Church on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 

 2:00 - 5:00 pm. This is our annual fundraiser to purchase Recovery Bibles for clients at New Life Treatment Center.  Music will be provided 

 by: Master's Voice, Cornerstone Quartet, F.R.O.G.S. and Denny & Rachel Tinklenberg. Testimonies will be given by alumni of New Life 

 Treatment Center. Barbecues and ice cream sundaes will be served. Freewill donation will be accepted. Come and go as you please.
    Bible For Missions Thrift Store Dinner: The board of the Bible for Missions Thrift Store invites all volunteers and their spouses to a dinner

 as thanks for all the hours you have worked. The dinner will be held in the ARC Center at the American Reformed Church at 1720 N. 

 Burlington, Worthington, at 6:00 p.m. on October 3, 2017. Please let Joyce Aykens (507-372-2017) or Verla Wheeler (507-360-5811)

    COFFEE BREAK BIBLE STUDY –Join other women in the study of God’s word and make new friends!  All women of the community 

 are invited to Discover Ephesians. The fall session of Coffee Break and Children’s Story Hour (ages 3-Kindergarten) begins

 October 4 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First CRC in Edgerton.  Nursery will be provided.  If you have questions or if you 

 would like to attend but cannot make it to the first meeting, contact Thea (442-3512 or 507-227-9513) or Elaine (442-8751).
    ATLAS of Rock County is again offering the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University starting Wednesday, October 4 from 7:00 pm

 to 8:30 pm. In this nine-week class, you’ll learn Dave Ramsey’s seven easy-to-follow Baby Steps to create a budget, get out of debt, and 

 make a plan for your money! Classes will be held at ATLAS, 201 E. Main and facilitated by Jerry and Renae Rue.  Cost of the class 

 materials is $99 (scholarships are available). Register by calling the ATLAS office at 449-5777.
    The Southwest MN Christian High School music department will perform their fall concert on Thursday, October 19 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

 in the school gymnasium.  The music selections will include childhood folk music, common songs from Sunday School, and songs from the 

 years students were born. Also premiering are two new pep-band pieces for the upcoming winter athletic activities.  Please join as we 

 enjoy the talents of our students and encourage them in their fine arts activities.
    The Brown Family from LeMars, IA will be performing patriotic, praise & worship, and a little holiday music at Southwest MN 

 Christian High School on Friday, November 10 during an evening performance beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars for an 

 evening of soaking in the sounds of remembrance, joy, and celebration!
