refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

This Sunday evening, at 6 pm you are invited to join us for a Service of Lessons and Carols.
If you have any needs or items of prayer this week, please contact your Care Group elder.
As a new year approaches it is a good time for us as a church to evaluate our Bible reading habits, and make a commitment to follow a plan.   The Robert Murray M'Cheyne Bible reading plan reads through the New Testament and Psalms twice and the Old Testament once, all in one
year.  A copy of the plan has been distributed in your mailboxes, and can be folded to be used as a bookmark.  There will be extra copies
available for spouses or children on top of the mailboxes.  If you are interested in a daily companion to guide your reading, we will be ordering
a book called For the Love of God by D.A. Carson for $20 each.  If there is interest we can also meet to discuss what we have read and
encourage one another in our reading. Sign up in the kitchen window by Christmas if you would like to order a copy, and indicate your interest
 in meeting together.
Advent gift catalog campaign to help a family in need.  Here's how it works.  Step 1: Review the World Renew Gift Catalog placed in
your church mailbox.  Step 2: Choose an ornament from the giving tree set up in the fellowship hall that represents the gift your family would like
to give to a family in need.  Step 3: Complete the order form at the back of the catalog.  Make out a check to World Renew for the
appropriate amount.  Step 4: mail your check and order form directly to World Renew or give online at  You can also use
the giving tree ornament to tell a friend or family member that you have bought a gift in their honor.
There will be no Sunday School December 30.
Church service cancellation notice due to bad weather will be sent by text and also will be announced on the radio, 101.1 Luverne and
106.1 Slayton. If we are under a blizzard warning 1 hour before any church activity it will automatically be cancelled.
Scholarship Opportunity:  A portion of the Classis Minnesota ministry share for Christian Higher Educating received during the previous year
is awarded in February to Christian college students in the form of scholarship grants. Any student attending a CRC-endorsed Christian college
who completes an application form by the December 31 deadline is eligible. Contact Pastor Josh for an application form or provide him with
the student's email address and a form will be emailed directly to the applicant.
