The Lord's Day - March 4, 2018

This week's memory verse: 1 Corinthians 8:6, “Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things come and for whom we live; and
there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things come and through whom we live.”

   ANNOUNCEMENTS:

This Sunday evening, Pastor Josh will be preaching in Worthington as a part of a post-classis pulpit exchange, and we welcome

Rev. Adam Eisenga from Worthington CRC to lead our worship.
Next Sunday evening after our regular evening worship service at 6:00 p.m., we will be showing a 30 minute portion of a movie

called “Calvinist”, a documentary which interviews several influential teachers. From the DVD cover, “When a generation finds the theology

and practice of the modern church wanting, they turn to the internet for answers. An investigation into the roots of the Reformation reveals a

theology that challenges everything they thought they knew about Christianity. With a fresh view of God, where do they go from here?”
We are changing the way we use the prayer chain and how we send out announcements for things like church cancellations.  We are

moving to a system that will send out text messages.  If you have the ability to text message we would prefer to do it that way, but we do not

want to exclude anyone that does not.  There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the church for the new system.  There is a section for text

messages and a section for those who do not have the ability to receive texts.  Please add your name and number to the list.  Thank you.
Classis Minnkota will be in need of a Treasurer and Alternate Treasurer during this year.  We have made attempts to find individuals who

would be able to serve, but without success so far.  Members of our congregations are asked to consider prayerfully your gifts and interest in

serving as Treasurer for Classis Minnkota.  This position may require approximately 60-75 hours per year, and classis pays a stipend

(currently $2400 per year) for the work done.  Our current Treasurer is willing to provide assistance for the new Treasurer in becoming

acquainted with the work.  Inquiries may be directed to the current Treasurer Alvin Kooiman (email:  akooiman@iw.net; telephone:

507 376-5604) or to the Stated Clerk LeRoy Christoffels (email:  leechristoffels@gmail.com; telephone:  507 376-4092).
SAVE THE DATE!  ATLAS of Rock County will be hosting their annual Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, April 5.  The event will be

held at Grand Prairie Events in Luverne.  Social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner being catered by the Bluestem and served at

6:30 p.m.  More details to come!
Male students who are pursuing studies toward ordained ministry in the Christian Reformed Church are invited to apply for

financial aid through the Classical Ministry Leadership Committee. For information and application forms contact Rev. Harold Westra,

 742 6th Ave SW, Pipestone, MN 56164,  507 562-0132 or harold.westra@gmail.com by July 15.
