We extend our sympathy to Cindy Vogel and her family in the passing of her sister, Lynette Engbarth..

We pray from Frank Vander Woude who returned home from the hospital on Friday after hip surgery.

   ANNOUNCEMENTS:
TODAY: Profession of Faith class at 1:00 p.m.
Pastor Josh will be at a conference in Dyer, Indiana from Monday to Thursday this week.  Please contact your care group elder for
 any congregational needs.
For anyone interested in a reaffirmation or new membership class, contact Pastor Josh or one of the elders so a
 schedule can be set up.
Please pray for the men who have been nominated for the office of elder or deacon. Letters have been sent; now
we wait for the leading of the Holy Spirit.
A few weeks ago we were pleased to see a video update from Glenn and Laura Adams, our missionaries in
Sucre, Bolivia.  This week we received an urgent request from them, as seen in the newsletters distributed in
your mailboxes.  Currently their support account is negative and they need more funds just to buy plane tickets to return
to the US and visit churches.  They are hoping to visit our church this summer as well.  The best way to support them is
to give a monthly pledge of $25, $50, or $100 that can be automatically given with a credit or debit card.  Would
you prayerfully consider supporting this important work?  Visit https://www.pioneers.org/give/ to sign up.
October is Pastor Appreciation month so please take time to send a card or say “thank you” to Pastor Josh.
Starting in October, the nursery will be cutting back to two attendants (1 adult and 1 student). This is due to
the decreased number of children in the nursery. Please see a note in your church mailbox for further information.
 Thank you! Pam Talsma
Today: You are invited to a Gospel Concert in Woodstock, MN at the American Reformed Church on
Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. This is our annual fundraiser to purchase Recovery Bibles for clients at
New Life Treatment Center. Music will be provided by: Hear By Faith, The Klassens and Cornerstone
Quartet. Testimonies will be given by alumni from New Life Treatment Center. Barbeques and ice cream sundaes will
be served. Freewill donation will be accepted. Come and go as you please.
Saturday, October 20: Open house for Henrietta Bruxvoort's 90th Birthday from 2:00-4:00 p.m.  Come join her
family at the Chandler Reformed Church basement. Please let your presence be your gift.
If you are working with the Youth of your church come and join us at Minnikota Youth and Inspiration Hills at
our annual Youth Leaders Retreat: Oct. 26 and 27, 2018 at Inspiration Hills. Our theme this year is "The Art
of Encouragement" with speakers Dave and Rennie Garda. Dave and Rennie serve as disciple-making missionaries called
to help churches and families understand and live disciple-making friendships. Register
online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/youth-leaders-retreat-2018-tickets-48247927851. As a supporting Church of
MIK Youth there is a PROMO CODE to attend this retreat FREE. Contact Lee De Groot  at mikyouthnetwork@gmail.com  (712 470 4244). The deadline is Oct 19th.
NURSERY ATTENDANTS NEEDED – Coffee Break Bible Study has a wonderful problem.  The nursery is full
of little ones.  We could use more adults to help care for these little ones while their mom attends Bible Study.  If you
are available from 9:15 to 10:50 on Wednesdays please contact Thea at 507.227.9513.  Even if you can only help once
a month or as a substitute, it would be greatly appreciated.  Grandpas are welcome too!
