WHAT WE BELIEVE
ABOUT GOD
We believe God to exist as a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In his Word, we believe God reveals himself in these three distinct persons, and yet as one, true, and eternal God.
GOD THE FATHER
God the Father is the creator of the cosmos and all that is in it. He created the world out of nothing and everything in it.
Today he upholds his creation by his counsel and providence.
GOD THE SON
God the Son was sent by the Father into the world in the person of Jesus Christ to save the world from sin, death and evil. He died for our sins and resurrected on the third day. Jesus Christ is fully human and fully divine. By the power of his divinity he has defeated death, sin and evil in his resurrection, and in his human nature he carried the consequence of the sin we deserve as sinful humans. By his death and resurrection, Christ delivers us from sin and restores us to God for eternity. God promises us that Jesus Christ will come back again to judge everyone and redeem creation.
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
He lives in the hearts of all believers to enable us to fulfill and carry out God’s purpose and plan.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be God’s own Word to us. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by humans, the Bible is infallible in all of its teachings and authoritative for our beliefs and actions.
ABOUT OURSELVES
We believe that we are sinful human beings that are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Our faith in itself is an unearned gift from God. Out of gratitude for what God has done in and for us, we strive to love and serve God with all of our strength, soul and mind, and we strive to love our neighbor as ourselves.
ABOUT OTHERS
We believe others are our neighbors without any sort of distinction. Every human being is bestowed a God-given dignity by way of creation in his image. In Jesus Christ, we are called to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
